New image shows how the Aprilia Tuareg 660 may look
Images have been published purporting to show what the incoming Aprilia Tuareg 660 adventure bike will look like
AS the day drawers near to Aprilia officially unveiling its latest assault on the middle-weight sector, the number of things we now know about the new model begin to increase.
Just last week we reported on some of the specifics of the new adventure motorcycle, like the fact it will be shod with ADV-spec 21” front and 18” rear wheels. Aprilia exec, Cristian Romeo Barelli also confirmed in an interview that the machine will retain Aprilia’s sporting DNA, with just enough rough and tumble to take the fight to the already-established machines in the segment.
And today we have noticed an image being shared widely across the net although it seems to have originated from the Italian website, Insella. While the image, seen above, is an artist's rendering of how the bike could look.
One piece of the bike’s design though doesn’t look quite right; the front end and fairing. The Tuareg 660 wearing a stylised version of the RS660 and Tuono 660 front fairing might seem sensible, having already published spy-shots of the bike undergoing testing, we already have a fairly good idea of how it will look.
Aprilia Tuono 660 Review 2021
Instead of tying the new Tuareg into the R660, Tuono 660, RSV4 and Tuono 1100, Aprilia seems to be going in a different direction with the adventure machine. Instead of running with sleek headlights wrapped with thin LED DRLs, the front fairing on the testing mule shows the bike running a single, centrally mounted LED headlight. While it’s not uncommon for manufacturers to wrap fairings to disguise what lies beneath, we have a feeling that the structural look of the fairing points to it being fairly close to the finished design.
To find out for real what is actually going on here, we don’t think we’ll be waiting long. We’ve told an announcement on the new Aprilia Tuareg 660 is incoming in the next month or so.
