Suzuki GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F price announced

SUZUKI has just announced prices of the new GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F.

The naked GSX-S1000 costs £8,999 plus on-the-road charges, or £9,499 with ABS. The fully-faired GSX-S1000F costs from £9,999 plus OTR.

Identical aside from the fairing, both machines use a retuned engine from a 2005 GSX-R1000 K5 in a new aluminium frame. They’re equipped with Brembo monobloc brake calipers from the current GSX-R1000 and three-mode traction control.

The news may come as a disappointment to customers of one Suzuki dealer, which recently listed prices on its website of £8,699 for the GSX-S1000 and £8,995 for the GSX-S1000F.

The new models are due to arrive in dealerships in June.

Suzuki GB Marketing Manager Rob Cooper said: 'The GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000FA both offer an exciting package, with new chassis components all wrapped around a popular, proven engine. We're confident that both models will be highly competitive against other bikes in this sector of the market in terms of both spec and price.'
