World’s Fastest Triumph Bobber takes to the dragstrip
The Thornton Hundred supercharged and nitrous-injected Triumph Bobber is a custom bike like no other
IF you’ve ever ridden the Triumph Bobber you will not it is anything but slow. With close gears, acres of torque at any revs, and a long and low profile, it really does fire you off the line quicker than most 100bhp bikes do.
But as is the way when riding any bike, a few more ponies are always welcome, and custom motorcycle builder Thornton Hundred has taken that to the extreme.
The team at TH have been customising bikes for a few years now and have made a name for themselves in the modern British twin-cylinder scene. Their bikes have an unmistakable DNA, with wide wheel conversions being the order of the day, while chucking on a supercharger is just the done thing.
The latest bike from Thornton Hundred boss Jody Millhouse started out as a project, something to keep him out of trouble during the first, enforced lockdown. What started as a build to create a bike for shows and general day-to-day use quickly became a passion project to create the fastest and most extreme Triumph Bobber on the planet.
In the quest for power and speed, Millhouse completely gutted the engine, upgrading many of the bike’s internals. A Rotrex Supercharger boosts the output to more than 160bhp – a nitrous system pushes that to more than 200bhp at the rear wheel.
Obviously upgrading the engine in such an extreme manner will require extensive chassis changes to suit, and Millhouse didn’t scrimp in this department either. The bike is currently undergoing some serious suspension and braking system changes.

Jody Millhouse will be taking to the hallowed Goodwood Festival of Speed hill climb this weekend with Triumph, and as we are going to be riding up the hill with him too, you can be sure we’ll be badgering him for a go on this beastly bobber!
