With two wins to his name already for Be Wiser Ducati, Josh Brookes wants to use the Brands Hatch summer round to “pinpoint the final few changes” to his setup ahead of kick-starting his Bennetts British Superbike title charge.
The 2015 BSB champion has endured a rollercoaster start to the season with a mechanical double DNF at the opener at Silverstone followed by a dominant pair of wins at Oulton Park.
With another retirement and two top five finishes at the Donington Park triple-header, the Australian rider remains in contact with the front-runners, 41 points off early championship leader and team-mate Scott Redding, and is eager to use happy hunting ground Brands Hatch to fine-tune his Ducati V4 R setup in preparation for the run of summer rounds before the BSB Showdown.
“I’m looking forward to racing at Brands Hatch as it’s a track I’ve had a lot of success at in the past and I really enjoy riding there,” Brookes, who has 12 career wins at Brands Hatch, said. “The Be Wiser Ducati is fantastic, but we are always looking for improvements which I’m striving for to make me totally in my comfort zone.
“We are so close and just need to pinpoint the final few changes to it being exactly how I want it and with me knowing Brands Hatch like I do; this weekend should allow me to do that.”
