Wojtek Rozmus, 43, has sadly become the second motocross rider to die at the Mildenhall circuit in the last six months, following an accident last Sunday.

The Polish rider was taking part in a motocross heat that included riders ranging from novice to expert, while a number of comments on the now-deleted Facebook post, indicated that the track had been very busy at the time of the accident.

The 43-year-old’s death is the second fatal incident in just the past six months at the motocross circuit, which is situated next to the West Row speedway and motorsports stadium.

Mildenhall MX admitted it had decided to post confirmation of the death "before any more gossip continues" but it has not confirmed further details about the circumstances surrounding Wojtek’s death.

In the statement posted on Facebook Sunday evening, owner of Mildenhall MX, Cliff Bastick, initially said: "Today we had a fatality at the track. We are still carrying out all necessary procedures with health and safety local authority. We are obviously very sad about it.

"Our thoughts are with the bereaved family at this time. I have run the track for 24 years and this is the second death within six months so we are deeply shocked by it."

George Edwards, aged 17, was the other rider who lost his life at the same venue, which occurred in September 2024.

In another Facebook post on Monday, which has also been deleted, the track said: "We are doing everything possible in light of yesterday's tragic event."

West Suffolk Council's health and safety department added: "We can confirm that we are investigating an incident at Mildenhall Motocross that has sadly resulted in the death of a motocross rider at the weekend, and our thoughts are with their friends and family."

Everyone at Visordown sends their condolences to the rider's family and friends.
