Superstock’s Joe Burns moves to BSB for 2015
Burns to join In House Developments Kawasaki team
BRITISH Superstock front-runner Joe Burns is to move to the British Superbike championship for 2015.
The 22-year-old, who finished eighth in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 championship this year, will join the newly-formed In House Developments Kawasaki team in BSB.
Burns made a BSB wildcard appearance at Assen this year in addition to lining up in the Superstock class. He’s now working on a winter testing programme ahead of his first full BSB season.
He said: ‘I can't thank everyone involved at In House Developments enough for this great opportunity. We are building a new bike for the season and we aim to be testing towards the end of January and the start of February. I am over the moon to be moving into the Superbike championship. I feel that I am at the point now where I wanted to move up and I am really chuffed we have been able to make it happen in 2015.
‘I know the Kawasaki very well and the team of guys around me is set to be extremely strong. We think that top 10 finishes aren't out of reach. The package will be by far the best I've been involved with to date so testing can't come soon enough.'
In House Developments Director Russell Crowther said: ‘We're delighted to be working with Joe and the team in 2015. We have followed motorcycle racing around the world for many years, from BSB to MotoGP, so to finally have our own team on track is a tremendous feeling. We're confident that 2015 can be a great debut season and we can't wait to get out there.’
