Cal Crutchlow joins Tai Woffinden in helping to raise money for Great Ormond St
Speedway superstar Tai Woffinden has teamed up with some famous faces including MotoGP’s Cal Crutchlow to raise money for charity
SPEEDWAY World Champion and Torrens Trophy winner Tai Woffinden have set out to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. To help him achieve his £200,000 target, Woffinden has called on a host of famous faces to help him, including MotoGP rider Cal Crutchlow.
The challenge is to cycle non-stop for 24 hours, although, with lockdown restrictions as they are, this is not being completed outside. Instead, Tai and his friends are hitting the static bikes, and taking on a Zwift ride. The system hooks the user’s conventional road bike to a turbo trainer that is connected to a computer. The system can change the resistance of the roller that contacts the rear wheel to simulate climbs and descents.
As it’s 2021, the program allows for a level of social interaction with like-minded users, something that has enabled Woffinden to team up with friends for the challenge.
The challenge began yesterday (Monday, February 1st 2021) and although it has finished, people can still donate to this very worthy cause.
