Dean Thomas launches Mission Racing



Superbike star, Dean Thomas announced his retirement from Superbike racing

to spearhead the Mission Racing project as Team Manager. The team will

contest the 2008 British Supersport Championship with riders Sam Warren

and Nick Medd, onboard the latest 2008 Yamaha YZF-R6 Rob McElnea

specification race bikes.

Sam Warren (25) from Belper in Derbyshire is the 2006 British Supermoto

Champion and brings experience from a highly competitive Off-road

background. Team-mate Nick Medd (27), from Hull is a former British

Superbike Championship contender.

Current British Superstock Cup contender, Tom Clegg steps up to ride a

Mission Junior Superstock bike in the brand new 2008 Junior Superstock

Championship.

Dean Thomas, Team Manager: "It's an exciting time for everyone involved.

We've been working very hard to get Mission up and running before the 2007

season ended. With our bikes ready to go from a proven source we can begin

our testing programme in the next few weeks."

Nik Ellwood, Team Principal: "As an additional commitment to the

Championship we are pledging 1% of our sponsorship money to the Chris

Jones Memorial Fund. I'd like to take this opportunity to invite any other

teams to match our pledge for this worth while cause."

Mission Racing will be exhibiting at the 2007 International Motorcycle and

Scooter Show at the NEC, Birmingham from 22 November " 2 December and

welcome any interested parties to their stand.

The 2008 British Supersport Championship has been provisionally announced

by the MCRCB as a 12 round championship, commencing at Brands Hatch on 4-6

April.
