Bradley Smith will look to go one better next season after he was officially confirmed for the 2020 MotoE World Cup with the One Energy Racing team.

The Briton, who started 108 MotoGP races between 2013 and 2019, switched to the all-new electric motorcycle racing series with One Energy Racing, headed up by Johan Stigefelt who also run the Petronas SRT MotoGP effort.

It proved to be a successful transition for Smith, who finished runner-up to Matteo Ferrari with three podiums across the five races marked the inaugural MotoE campaign.

For 2020, he is one of 18 riders that will attempt to win the 2020 MotoE World Cup title across an expanded schedule of seven races held at Jerez, Assen, Red Bull Ring, Misano and Valencia.

With only six new riders joining the fray, there are a number of riders sticking with their teams for another season.

This includes inaugural champion Matteo Ferrari, who remains at Trentino Gresini Racing, and third place Avintia rider Eric Granado.

Of the leading newcomers, Jordi Torres will dovetail his WorldSBK commitments by competing with Pons Racing – replacing Sete Gibernau - while Dominique Aegerter joins Intact GP after losing his MV Agusta Moto2 seat.

The MotoE World Cup debuted in 2019 using a field of race-spec Energica Ego Corsa motorcycles.

It hasn't been confirmed whether Smith will continue to start MotoGP races with the Aprilia Gresini team as part of his role as test rider.
