Marquez makes it ten pole positions in a row at the German Grand Prix with a new MotoGP lap record at the Sachsenring.
The Repsol Honda star, also chasing a tenth successive Sachsenring victory, held off a brave challenge from injured rookie Quartararo, who suffered a 'partial dislocation of his left shoulder' while saving a big tank-slapper during FP3 this morning.
Assen winner Vinales made it two Yamahas on the front row of the grid, with Rins in fourth for Suzuki.
Petrucci, earlier furious at being blocked by Mir, was slow to walk away from a big accident at Turn 9 and is undergoing medical checks.
Rossi and the injured Nakagami progressed through Qualifying 1, despite a late fall for the Italian. Dovizioso failed to advance beyond Q1 and was left just 13th on the grid.
Jorge Lorenzo is absent after fractures to his vertebrae last weekend at Assen and is being replaced by HRC test and wild-card rider Bradl.
LCR riders Nakagami and Crutchlow are both carrying leg injuries, the Japanese from Assen and the Englishman from a bicycle accident
Bagnaia returned to action today after missing the Friday afternoon session due to his morning fall.
