Michael Dunlop Passes His Bike Test!
Already a member of the 135mph club, Isle of Man TT legend Michael Dunlop has just passed his motorcycle test
It’s hard to get your head around the concept of the world’s fastest motorcycle racers not holding a valid motorcycle license, but apparently, that’s a thing!
Michael Dunlop is the latest world-class rider to gain his road riding spurs, as Moto Training NI shared the news that Mr Dunlop has now passed his motorcycle test thanks to its training.
It looks as though the bike Michael used for the exam was a bit of a step down from the TT racing machine he campaigns throughout the road racing season, with a Kawasaki Z650, boasting a whole 67bhp and 47lb ft of torque, looking like his choice of machine.
Taking to social media, Moto Training NI said:
"So I get this phone call from a guy who said he had lots of experience riding on the roads, but seemed to be having difficulty keeping a bike lined up and both wheels on the ground.
"Thankfully we were able to get him sorted and he passed his final road test today in the worst of conditions!
"Has been great craic - have a safe and successful season Michael and thank you for choosing Moto Training NI"
Later this year Michael will be taking on the roads on a much more potent machine, as the 25-time TT winner will be pushing his 200+ bhp Honda Fireblade to the limit on the world’s most gruelling road racing course. The 2024 Isle of Man TT will take place from Monday 27th May 2024 to Saturday 8th June 2024, culminating in the six-lap Milwaukee Senior TT.
