A rare Lambretta LD150 Mk3 which Henry Cole formerly owned, and that stars in a future episode of Shed and Buried, is heading to auction at the H&H National Motorcycle Museum sale.

The bike is a 1957 example of the popular LD150 model, and will be going under the hammer with no reserve on March 26, 2025. According to Visordown’s scooter expert, an LD of this age and condition would normally sell for between £3,000 and £4,000, although the link to Cole and the TV show is expected to push the price of this bike up.

The bike, which is said to be in good condition and with a V5C making it ready for the summer, is the feature scooter in a Shed and Buried episode due to be aired this Summer. The show sees Cole, TV presenter and musician, Fuzz Townshend, and custom bike builder Guy Willison, rooting through people's sheds for rusty relics which they then restore and sell for a profit. It’s unclear from the H&H press release whether or not this bike was sourced in this way, or if it’s one from Cole’s existing collection.

The bike being sold is said to be a late example, which is confirmed by the frame number, and it comes with a host of original parts. These include the original speedometer and a set of side panels. The Mk3 had slightly larger and more comfortable saddles than previous versions of the LD, it also featured a handlebar-mounted horn and a glovebox inside the leg shield that contained the speedometer and optional clock.

Paul Diamond, H&H Classics vintage scooter specialist, said: “Our auction is a great opportunity to own a good, working example Lambretta LD150 Mk3 that also has a smattering of celebrity appeal.”

Those wishing to bid on the Lambretta can do so in person on the day, online, on the phone or by leaving commission bids. More information can be found on the official website.
