WorldSBK and BSB no Longer Shown on Eurosport in the UK
A Sky TV package is no longer enough to watch WorldSBK and BSB as a tv change has ended Eurosport’s showing rights
Eurosport, through a Sky TV membership, had been the place for UK viewers to watch both WorldSBK and BSB racing over the last few years.
However, that is no more as the two championships will now be showcased through TNT Sports from 28 February. The decision to move WorldSBK and BSB was taken by Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), the parent company of Eurosport and TNT Sports.
Eurosport has previously been available to Sky TV and Virgin Media customers at no extra cost, but that’s all changed as a result of the switch.
To watch WorldSBK and BSB racing, customers must purchase a TNT Sports package if they do not own one already, which costs £30,99 a month. The membership is cheaper if bought as part of an add-on to an existing package.
That means WorldSBK and BSB join MotoGP as available to watch through TNT Sports, who has owned the MotoGP TV rights since 2014. There will be no change to TNT Sports showing MotoGP in 2025.
Alongside its impressive catalogue of two-wheel racing ownership, TNT Sports also holds rights to show Premier League and Champions League football, as well as cricket, boxing, tennis and UFC among others.
Speaking about the chance, Scott Young, group SVP, content, production and business operations of WBD Sports Europe, told Broadcast sport: “We don’t produce programmes thinking as TNT Sports or Eurosport, we produce them as WBD.
“We need a single destination for that content in the UK and Ireland. The move will bring an increased audience to what’s currently on Eurosport and will simplify our branding.”
