You may have heard about the UK’s biggest motorcycle show having a bit of a facelift for 2024 with all-new whizzbang bits popping up around the show and a new ‘festival vibe’. But what does this all actually mean?
We’ve put together a handy show overview as to what you can look forward to at Motorcycle Live, in association with Bikesure Insurance, at the NEC, Birmingham between 16-24 November…
NEW! Festival Zone
Let’s jump straight in with arguably the biggest change for 2024 - the brand-new Festival Zone. The show has been shifted around BIG TIME and a whole area dedicated to the new Festival Zone - with a seriously cool looking stage, festoon lights and a HUGE ramp - which can only mean one thing…. FMX stunts!
It’s great to see live action in the schedule again for 2024 and with multiple shows throughout each day so you don’t need to miss out whichever day you go. Expect to see stunts from a whole raft of two-wheeled disciplines - including FMX, Street Stunts, and Moto Trials.
We’re not usually ones to ‘fanboy’ but it’s three-time World Record Holder, Jonny Davies (aka JD Stunts) is also performing every day!
Presenting on the all-new Black Horse stage in the Festival Zone will be Matt Crowhurst- who you may know from Arenacross and Goodwood - and MCL favourite, James Whitham, who will be getting all the goss from the attending VIPs, racers and riding celebrities.
NEW! Expert Lab
Positioned at the heart of the show is the brand-new Expert Lab, hosted by TV star and two-wheeled aficionado Grace Webb. With a schedule packed full of expert guests, Grace will be getting to the bottom of the latest innovations, technology and trends in the industry. You may learn something new, or you might walk away with a newly sparked passion - every day is a school day right?!
The enviably cool team at The Machine Shop will also be on stage with live demonstrations offering hands-on engineering displays with Q&A opportunities too…
NEW! BSB RiDE Sim Racing Challenge
If you’re anything like us, one new feature that you’ll be excited to get to will be the new BSB RiDE Sim Racing Challenge.
Imagine 6 full-size superbikes mounted on advanced Moto-Trainer racing simulators (the type used by the pros for training) that you can race your mates around Donington Park on - for the chance to win money-can’t-buy-prizes - including two VIP tickets courtesy of Pata Prometeon Yamaha World Superbike Team and a weekend BSB paddock pass with a grid walk and BMW safety car lap - and the chance to brag about being faster than your mates…
Bikes, bikes and more bikes
With hundreds of exhibitors bringing their latest machines with them MCL24 is the place to be if you want to check out the newest models - for many, it will be the first time that they’ll be shown in the UK too. We love a good debut…
It’s not just new bikes that you can see either, there will be classics too in the Heritage Zone with The National Motorcycle Museum. This year, the folks from the NMM will present 10 special machines under the theme of ‘First and Last’, bringing some pretty special machines from the likes of Ariel, BSA, Norton, Royal Enfield and Triumph.
Have a go!
Climb aboard and have a go while you’re there. With riding opportunities galore for all age 4+, why not get booked on and take something for a spin while you’re there? Arai, AGV and RST are the show’s Official Clothing Supplier, so you don’t need to take your own kit with you and lug it around, as it’s all provided.
Check out all the riding features on the MCL website here.
“Treat yo’self!”
That’s what the kids say isn’t it?!
Anyway, if you’re anything like us, you’ll enjoy walking around the retail areas looking at and trying on a load of kit that ‘Santa’ might get you for Christmas if you’ve been good…nothing beats being hands-on with riding kit and accessories and chatting to the experts who live and breathe them every day.
Extend your day out!
BRAND NEW for 2024, the Black Horse Stage will host Rick Parfitt Junior and the RPJ Band, and DJ Rosie at the Saturday night festival on 23rd November. Whether you’re looking to extend your visit into the evening or come just for the Festival – you’ll have a fantastic night!
