Conway was road testing a customer’s 750cc Harley-Davidson at the time of the crash, which resulted in his head going through the passenger side window of the car. the defendant had already admitted liability in the incident, just leaving a sheriff to decide upon any compensation.
As a result, Conway suffered physical and psychiatric injuries, which included a newfound phobia of the motorcycles he had to work on.
Despite receiving support from his employer, a change of role away from riding motorcycles was facilitated, Conway left the business to become a motorcycle valet and service technician.
The Daily Record reports that Sheriff Robert Fife agreed to award Conway a total of £61,252.27 from the driver’s insurance company.
Sheriff Fife said, “This was a job the pursuer loved. Any time he was on a bike, he felt very nervous, very anxious, and was shaking. He felt as if he had to get away from the situation.”
Conway now has hopes to become a photographer.
There’s no mention if that’s with bikes or wildlife though…
