A Whole Lotta Torque About Norton is the name of the National Motorcycle Museum’s newest event, added to its 2024 schedule in collaboration with the official Norton Owners’ Club.

Scheduled for 28 September, the event “celebrates the rich heritage of Norton motorcycles,” the National Motorcycle Museum (NMM) says.

The show's itinerary features “talks, demonstrations, and exclusive museum access, from 09:00–17:00,” on the day of the event, the NMM says, with Norton Owners’ Club (NOC) members getting access for £5 instead of the usual £15. Parking on the day is free for all attendees, whether arriving by motorcycle or — ahem — car.

The event’s expert-led talks include “Norton, the Worst Brand in the World? A Look Through its Press History,” (which is making us feel a little bit nervous) hosted by John Naish, “Inside Norton Engineering” with Ashley Cutler, Brian Gullen’s “What’s the Latest From the Norton Factory”, and “The History of John Player Nortons” with Alan Cathcart.

In addition to the talks, there’s the start-up show, featuring both modern and classic Norton models. The NMM doesn’t give specifics, but we would assume each of Norton’s three current models — the neo-retro Commando 961, V4CR cafe racer, and V4SV superbike — will all be fired up, and, who knows, some may even be in their respective 125th-anniversary flavours. Plus, after listening to Alan Cathcart talk about the JPS Nortons, it would probably be nice to get to hear an F1 rotary or two start up.
