Police confirm motorcycles were stolen from Keith Richards' garage
The six off-road bikes were taken from the Rolling Stone's home near Chichester
EARLIER TODAY we reported the theft of six motorcycles from a garage in West Wittering, West Sussex.
The collection, which comprised both vintage and modern off-road machines, was stolen sometime between 6pm on Monday, 25th and 7am on Tuesday, 26th February.
We can now confirm that the bikes were stolen from Rolling Stone Keith Richards' Redlands Estate.
A police officer from Sussex Police's Arun and Chichester Prevention Team revealed the location in an email, writing: "We only have the information reported to us which we have posted on Facebook but I can confirm that it was on the Redlands estate."
Making up the stolen six were a white KTM 495, a red Maico 490 – both from 1981; a red and silver Maico 400, from 1977; a 2013 Beta Evo trials bike; a 2011 Husaberg 390 and a Gas Gas 300 enduro.
Richards, a singer/songwriter and guitarist for the world famous rock group, has long been riding motorcycles, and has often been snapped on two wheels over the decades.
The 75-year-old has owned the Redlands Estate since the 1960s, when he reportedly bought it for £20,000 cash.
