Harley-Davidson Street Glide Ultra the “Most Capable” American Tourer?
Harley-Davidson’s fresh 2025 model line-up sees several new bikes hit the scene, including the much-anticipated Street Glide Ultra
Doing away with the Ultra Limited model, Harley-Davidson’s 2025 Street Glide Ultra is the company’s most advanced touring motorcycle to date, and it bolsters a new, more powerful engine to boot.
Moving away from the Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine-spec model, the new Street Glide Ultra gets an increased power output thanks to the Milwaukee-Eight 117 powertrain, while also receiving improved intake and exhaust flow as a result.
Producing 105bhp and 130Ib ft of torque, the new Street Glide Ultra is not a million miles away from the 2025 CVO Road Glide ST which is the American brand’s most powerful production bike to date.
The new powertrain’s cylinder head cooling system is said to reduce engine heat for both the rider and passenger while other new features have been developed with added comfort in mind.
Completely new to the Street Glide Ultra, a revised tall touring windshield has been implemented in line with the bike’s aero package, which receives a new design with a central vent, upgraded air deflectors and mid-frame deflectors. Compared to the standard Street Glide, the new windshield is four inches taller.
The updates don’t stop there as new rear Showa dual outboard emulsion shocks with longer travel of three inches features on the 2025 Ultra model. Preload adjustment is also available.
A new one-piece seat is exclusive to the Street Glide Ultra, but with comfort being the main emphasis, it is shaped to align the riders’ hips in a more neutral position. New heated handlebars are a welcome addition, while the bike also features a King Tour-Pak luggage carrier with a wraparound passenger backrest pad and luggage rack. 32mm, four-piston dual axially mounted front callipers make up the front braking set-up, while a single-piston can be found at the rear.
Plenty of rider safety enhancements are available aboard the new Street Glide Ultra, such as ABS, electronic linked braking (ELB), traction control, VHC (vehicle hold control). Owners of the new tourer are greeted by a 312mm TFT Skyline dashboard display, while a navigation system and four different riding modes are available at the touch of a finger.
The new bike costs £28,495 and comes in four colourways including Billiard Grey, Vivid Black, Blue Burst and Whiskey Fire/Vivid Black.
