Peter Hickman and Michael Dunlop, known for locking horns at the Isle of Man TT in recent years, went head-to-head again but this time on American soil as they competed in the famous Daytona 200 race last weekend.

Hickman and Dunlop have been the faces of international road racing for a long time and that continued for much of 2024 as they exchanged wins at the Isle of Man TT, while Davey Todd also got his name in the mix with a couple of wins.

Dunlop, who is the most successful rider ever at the TT with 29 wins, and Hickman who holds an impressive tally of 14 victories to his name at the legendary mountain course, were both riding full-factory equipment at the American race which was won by Josh Herrin.

Hickmans was aboard the PHR Performance Triumph 765 as he claimed fourth place in Saturday’s race, while Dunlop crossed the line in ninth place on his Milwaukee/MD Racing Ducati Panigale V2.

Herrin was also aboard the new Panigale V2, with the former MotoAmerica superbike rider clinching his fourth win at the event and his third in succession. The Daytona 200 served as the first big event of the year for both Hickman and Dunlop.

Speaking after the race, Hickman said: “Mega race at Daytona International Speedway for the Daytona 200 race. Really happy to have finished P4 having had battles at the front throughout and even leading the race momentarily!

"My PHR Performance Triumph 765 ran perfectly throughout. Huge thanks to the team and sponsors for making everything happen, without you guys we simply couldn’t have done it!
