Micheal Rutter confirms 2025 Road Racing Plans
Michael Rutter has confirmed he will continue racing in some capacity in 2025, despite taking over the role of team manager for the first time in BSB this year
Doubt was cast over the racing future of Michael Rutter when his long-standing relationship with Bathams Racing led to a new BSB project where he became the team manager.
The new Bathams Racing by AJN squad will feature the very exciting Storm Stacey, who is heading into his sixth campaign as a BSB rider in 2025. As a result of the new BSB project, confusion as to whether Rutter would continue his road racing commitment surfaced, which he has since addressed.
Rutter and Bathams Racing will continue to sponsor Craig Neve, while the former admits he will likely take part in the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT once again. Asked by Manx Radio if his new role would stop him from racing, Rutter said: “No. Obviously, we’re still sponsoring Craig Neve, we’ll still be there, and I’ll still be there doing something,
“I don’t know what yet. I’ve been thinking about different stuff over the last few weeks, obviously with the time scales of everything and to do the North West [200] and the Isle of Man [TT]. But we’ll definitely be there, bigger than ever. I’ll definitely be riding, [but] I don’t know what yet.”
The 2025 BSB season will mark Bathams Racing’s first in the superbike category for Rutter’s team, while the deal to bring in Stacey, who is still considered one of the bright young talents in the class, was made possible late in 2024 as discussion took place at the season finale at Brands Hatch. That was the round where Kyle Ryde was crowned champion for Yamaha.
