Honda CBR300R specs revealed

THE SPECIFICATIONS of Honda's new CBR300R were revealed as the bike was unveiled at a motor show in China.

The new CBR300R features a 286cc single cylinger engine, producing a claimed 30.4bhp and 20lbft of torque and it also features Honda's PGM-FI. Although Honda haven't confirmed anything to us, it appears that the new CBR300R's engine is simply a bored-out version of the CBR250R's motor.

On paper the CBR300R offers aroiund 5bhp more than the CBR250 but it's still around 8bhp shy of Kawasaki's Ninja 300. In the world of small-capacity engines, every horse counts. The 300R is three kilograms lighter than the 250R and, thanks to it's single-cylinder engine, it's 10kg lighter than the parallel-twin Kawasaki.
