Volcon announce the Runt – a big-wheel electric kids’ bike
Side-by-side, ATV and motorcycle maker Volcon has announced the Runt, an electric bike designed for kids and the apocalypse!
IF there is one thing every motorcycle fan secretly wants, it’s for their kids to follow in their wheel tracks and take up the hobby of motorcycles.
And it increasingly seems to be the world of electric bikes that is providing youngsters with the kind of kickstart they need to get on two-wheels.

One US company that has picked up on this is Volcon, which specialises in ATVs, side-by-side off-roaders, and now motorcycles.
Volcon has been making the Grunt full-size electric motorcycle for some time now and it’s a very cool looking bit of kit. 100-mile range, two hour recharge time, can be ridden while totally submerged in water. You know, standard stuff…
But kids do not like being left out, so joining the Grunt will be the, errr… Runt! As the name suggests, the Runt is a smaller and slightly lower-spec version of the Grunt. And it is specifically designed for kids.
It has a top speed of 35mph, a claimed range of 35-miles, and produces 60lb-ft of torque. All in the bike weighs a whisker over 80kg and has a handy 685mm seat height.
Just like the full-sized Grunt, the Runt is blessed with some of the chunkiest tyres this side of a redneck’s wedding party – great for plugging through the bayou while trapping ‘Gators with Pa by torchlight!
The Runt is actually priced quite competitively too, with bikes starting at $2,995.
