A YOUNG CANADIAN motorcycle racer became the second fatality of August's Indianapolis MotoGP event, after the 21-year-old died from injuries six weeks after the crash at the American track.
Jesse Phibbs, 21, had been taking part in a flat track race during Indianapolis MotoGP weekend when he fell off his machine and was run over by another motorcycle.
Phibbs never regained consciousness after a crash on August 28, remaining in a coma until his death, yesterday.
Teenager racer Peter Lenz also lost his life during Indianapolis weekend; the 13-year-old was also killed when he fell from his machine and was hit by another competitor.
