The Dutch circuit has stepped up efforts to aid the Valencian community by donating €50,000 towards the repairs of damaged machinery.

The floods in Valencia, which began at the end of October, resulted in 219 people losing their lives while the MotoGP finale was moved to Barcelona due to damage surrounding the track.

Valencia was the region impacted the most by the deadly floods which continued into last month, as the middle of November was expected to see MotoGP conclude its epic 2024 title battle between Jorge Martin and Francesco Bagnaia at the tight and twisty Spanish track.

However, with more pressing concerns such as rehoming some of the public that lost their homes, and rebuilding infrastructures in the region, including the link road to the Ricardo Tormo Circuit, the legendary TT circuit in Assen has played a key role in supporting Valencia.

A statement from the Dutch circuit said: “We are deeply affected by what has happened in the Valencia region. We want to show that the MotoGP community stands in solidarity with each other in times of adversity. We wish everyone, not just the people of the circuit in Valencia, all the best in these tough times.”

Alongside the aid of Assen, MotoGP has been running a number of auctions with all the proceedings going towards the aid of the Valencia region, while nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi also put one of his iconic helmets up for auction to do the same.

Winners of the Moto3 world championship with new Moto2 rider David Alonso, the Aspar team set up a Go Fund Me page to help the region and it has so far raised 152,944 thousand Euros.

The MotoGP finale took place on the same weekend that it was scheduled in Valencia, but it did so in Barcelona as Martin clinched his first premier class title, while the Valencia circuit will reopen on 5 December for winter testing.

However, to get to the circuit an alternative route will be made available due to the damage that still exists in the area.
