Jorge Martin Provides Fresh Update on Injury after Hospital Discharge
Jorge Martin has revealed he will remain in Qatar for a few days after finally being released from hospital

Jorge Martin has been discharged from hospital following his latest bout of injuries he suffered at the Qatar MotoGP nearly two weeks ago.
Prior to his title defence getting underway Martin suffered two separate sets of injuries that meant he was unfit for the season opener in Thailand at the end of February.
The former Ducati rider then suffered a collapsed lung and multiple fractures when he was hit by Fabio Di Giannantonio after crashing in the Grand Prix in Qatar last time out.
As a result of his latest injuries, Martin will be replaced at this weekend’s Spanish MotoGP at Jerez, with official Aprilia Racing test rider Lorenzo Savadori stepping in to replace Martin.
While the timeframe for a return to action is unknown at this stage, the reigning world champion has finally been allowed to leave hospital in Doha, although he will spend a few more days in Qatar before returning home.
In an update on his social media platforms, Martin said: “Finally out of the hospital. Thank you all for the messages and for supporting me through this tough time in my life. I’m still in a lot of pain, but everything is under control.
“I’ll stay in Qatar for a few more days as a precaution, and as soon as I can, I’ll head home to rest and be with my people. Hope it’ll be very soon.”
If Martin does miss more races Savadori will likely be the rider that replaces him, as the Noale-based brand often relies on the Italian to replace injured riders or take part in wildcard appearances.
