Melbray Racing will officially support Dominic Herbertson in this year’s Isle of Man Supertwin TT races with a Paton S1-R.

The confirmation means Herbertson, who was expected to ride for WTF Racing in some of the 2025 TT races, has a guaranteed ride with Melbray Racing which is the same team he contested the 2024 Manx Grand Prix with.

Herbertson is no longer part of the WTF set-up following a shock decision from the team to drop its road racing program because of "unforeseen commercial circumstances", which has also led to Isle of Man TT veteran James Hillier being left without a seat as well.

The decision was taken after OMG Racing, which rebranded it's road racing team to WTF for the roads, also ditched its BSB plans.

But for Herbertson, the chance to ride a Paton S1-R gives him continuity as he rode the Italian manufacturer's lightweight Supertwin bike to third place in last year’s Race 1.

The Paton S1-R Herbertson will ride is powered by a liquid-cooled 180-degree twin-cylinder engine, that's cradled in a high-strength steel T.I.G. welded tubular frame.

The Melbray Racing machine also features some non-standard parts, including Maxton suspension, specially designed for the Mountain road course.

Herbertson said: "I’m really looking forward to riding for Melbray Racing in the two Supertwin races at this year’s TT. They’re a small team, but a great bunch of people, and I’m hoping to have the same results or better in this class than I had at last year's TT."
