Confederate lives on with venture capital money

CONFEDERATE Motorcycles will live on in the States after the brand’s intellectual property was bought by Venture capital fund Ernest Lee Capital.

The original firm changed its name to Curtiss after there was a big hoo-ha in Mericky over the Confederate flag and racist connotations that went with it but new Confederate owner Lee cares not a jot.

Lee believes the word Confederate is no more synonymous with racism than Rebel or the Confederate Flag itself, so the firm will continue to produce a new run of bikes – currently in the design stage – which will be owner-customisable.
