New bike sales fall 10 per cent in April

SALES of new bikes fell more than ten per cent in April 2018 compared with the previous year with the biggest fall coming in the Supersport category.

Dealers sold 40 per cent less Supersport bikes last month than the corresponding period in 2017 and also experienced a near 20 per cent drop in Adventure Sports too.

However, Touring bikes saw a 55 per cent increase while trail bikes also went up by 27 per cent. Naked bikes, like the Honda CB125, are sill selling well as is Yamaha’s NMax 1215 scooter.
