Triumph releases second Speed Triple teaser

All will be revealed on February 5

Triumph releases second Speed Triple teaser

LAST WEEK Triumph released a video purporting to show a rivalry between four-time WSB champion Carl Fogarty and two-time TT winner Gary Johnson.

It certainly got pulses racing, albeit for a different reason.

Yes, it wasn't hard to see that the video was in fact a teaser for a new Speed Triple, with two versions of the bike shown in silhouette. From what we could see, the bikes had TFT dashes, new exhausts and five-spoke wheels instead of the current model's 10-spoke set up.

And today, Triumph has thrown a second teaser at us.

It begins with Forgarty and Johnson grasping hands before both climbing astride a Speed Triple RS.

'The most powerful?' the video asks. 'The smartest?', 'The most aggressive?'.

The pair speed off into a hooligan lap of an abandoned airfield, and along the way, we catch a glimpse of the new bike's spec.

It appears the range topping RS has recieved an Arrow can and Ohlins suspension, plus the Street Triple's TFT dash and all the associated goodies - ie traction control and rider modes. There appears to be a quickshifter there too.

After further hooliganism, the pair speed across the finish line.

According to the clip, the new Speed Triple will be revealed on February 5 at 8am - that's a week today.

And with an invite to ride an unnamed Triumph at Almeria on February 19, it looks like we'll be bringing you a first ride soon!
