Ultra-rare Bimota SB8R goes up for sale
The bike is for sale in the US and is one of the rarest machines Bimota produced, with just 150 examples built
A rare Bimota has gone up for sale in the United States that would be the jewel in the crown of any motorcycle collection.
The Bimota SB8R is being offered for sale by Speedart Motorsports in Miami and is described as a time capsule bike, having covered just 5,100 miles after 16 years of ownership.

The rarity of the machine will also go some way to elevating its worth, with only 150 examples ever being produced worldwide, and only 69 of those designated for sale in the USA.
As you’d expect from such a track focussed machine, the bike is lathered with carbon fibre, all of which is described as being in perfect condition – not bad for a bike that is now 20 years old.
Powering the machine is the 1,000cc V-twin engine from the Suzuki TL1000, meaning the lightweight machine produces around 135bhp and 77lb-ft of torque.
Additional to the sale of the bike is a hoard of unobtainable spare parts worth thousands, many of which are now no longer available. Such spares include, composite full fairing skins that can be painted with the desired livery suitable for racing, extra monoposto seat, additional OEM Acerbis Tank, OEM full exhaust system with silencers, lithium battery charger, rear pit stand and more.
The price for the bike is listed at £18,600, excluding shipping and tax, making this ultra-rare and ultra-desirable machine actually fairly good value!
