Harley-Davidson Sportster S Gets New Suspension for 2025
Harley-Davidson’s new Sportster S is by no means a revolution on the 2024 model, but some minor changes have been made
One of the American company’s most sporty, yet muscular models across its wide range of motorcycles, the new Harley-Davidson Sportster S has received minor tweaks for 2025 although the biggest of those is new suspension with 60 per cent more travel.
That number has been achieved thanks to increased rear wheel travel without compromising the seat height which sits at 765mm. The rear wheel travel has been increased from 50.8mm to 81.2mm. Furthermore, the bike’s Showa piggyback reservoir shock is fully adjustable for hydraulic preload, compression and rebound damping.
Its 43mm inverted fork has also been revised to complement the new rear suspension more effectively, and it too is adjustable for compression, rebound damping and spring preload. The front travel is now 91.4mm.
At face value, the Sportster S is very similar to the 2024 model, and while that’s largely the case, a stylish refresh has also been made along with the upgraded suspension set-up. As part of said styling refresh, the Sportster S now features two new colour options including a Brilliant Red and Mystic Shift (glittery blue in other words) alongside the Billiard Grey and Vivid Black which carry over from last year’s model.
Once again the Sportster S uses the Revolution Max 1250T engine which produces a hefty 121bhp and 93Ib ft of torque. The powertrain is where the stylish tweaks come into their own thanks to a blacked-out appearance. Additionally, red lettering on the cover inserts give the new Sportster S its new look, while a new tank medallion, gloss black fuel door, and red spark plug wires are part of the style changes.
The new Sportster S retains its circular 102mm TFT dashboard which allows for easy navigation access thanks to Bluetooth connectivity, and features various rider modes including Sport, Road and Rain. The new 2025 Sportster S will be landing in dealers priced £15,145.
