Harley-Davidson to Take on Perilous Desert Race
The Pan America 1250 will once again be powering the brand in the 2025 Africa Eco Race with Joan Pedrero riding
Harley-Davidson is once again putting its Pan America 1250 in the shop window, as it will be contesting the 2025 Africa Eco Race which is due to begin December 28.
The event is revered as one of the most arduous desert raids, covering 3,667 miles, with a whopping 2,219 of that is racing on timed sections. The raid begins with the starting ceremony in Monte Carlo, before crossing the Mediterranean and beginning the rally in earnest in Tanger. From there the bikes, cars, buggies and ATVs will race through Morocco and Mauritania, before ending in Senegal.
The 2025 race will be Harley-Davidson’s second time competing in the event, as it entered the 2024 edition again with Joan Pedrero behind the bars. Pedrero and the whole Harley team will have a target on their backs this year, after taking the win in the Maxi-Trail class for large adventure bikes last year. Adding more kudos to the team's achievements in 2024 was the 25th place finish overall, against a field of mostly much smaller, lighter and more focused adventure bikes.
Fans can follow Pedrero and the Pan America’s progress on the Harley-Davidson social media channels, which will be posting results, video highlights and behind-the-scenes footage.
