Although very light-hearted in the end, LCR Honda could have failed to participate in today’s two-day MotoGP test in Buriram, Thailand, after the team were stuck at the airport without passports.

Lucio Cecchinello, team boss of LCR Honda, has shared an amusing post on Facebook of Johann Zarco and 2025 rookie Somkiat Chantra standing at the airport suited and booted ready for the season launch which took place a few days ago, however, it appears as though passports for the riders were missing.

Cecchinello also confessed that the team were stuck in traffic with Zarco and Chantra’s luggage, while the two riders were busy touring through the streets of Thailand’s capital, Bangkok, as part of the first-ever MotoGP season launch.

In the end both riders made their way through check in and security before arriving in Buriram for the final pre-season test, which began today ahead of the season-opener at the end of the month at the same venue.

During the inaugural MotoGP season launch, photos were taken of every rider and bike together including an on-stage photo of the entire grid, while plenty of other activities for fans were available as MotoGP welcomed in the new season, which kicks off in Thailand for the first time ever.

Despite the scare for the LCR Honda team, both Zarco and Chantra have been in action at Buriram today, as Honda’s efforts to close the gap in MotoGP continues.
