Indian recently brought a 2025 Sport Chief RT alongside several new “First 6” custom models to the table, but there are now four new models including the Chieftain, Roadmaster, Challenger and Pursuit arriving on the scene, all of which feature the all-new Powerplus 112 engine developed by its racing program in the King of the Baggers series.

The American company has introduced this to its European line-up which expands itself across the newly-named Chieftain PowerPlus Limited and Dark Horse models, which is the same for the Roadmaster as it too gets the Limited and Dark Horse branding.

The Challenger and Pursuit models, despite not sharing the same PowerPlus name in the title, receive plenty of the same DNA including the new engine. After two years of developing its PowerPlus engine, all four models receive the new V-Twin 1834cc engine (which replaces the previous 1,768cc unit) that produces a mighty 126bhp and 133.8Ib ft of torque.

Prior to its launch, the new PowerPlus 112 engine was developed by the race heads at Indian Motorcycles, and it is the same power unit that steered the company to a win in the 2024 King of the Baggers championship.

Along with the engine, a host of new parts have been added to the technical side of these new models, including bike hold control, an electronic combined brake system, blind spot warning, tailgate warning, rear collision warning and smart lean technology, with the latter implemented to improve the ABS and traction control through its performance-based tuning.

Each model also receives a new fancy 178mm touchscreen dash display which offers bike information, customizable gauge screens and Bluetooth connectivity thanks to its Ride Command system. Additionally, turn-by-turn GPS navigation, Apple CarPlay, bike health and bike locator systems feature across all four Limited and Dark Horse models.

The Chieftain and Roadmaster models get fork-mounted fairings that were originally established aboard the Challenger, while the latter and Chieftain PowerPlus provide 68 litres of storage. The Pursuit and Roadmaster PowerPlus both gain 140 litres of storage thanks to the rear trunk set-up.

Standard across the expanded PowerPlus family are three rider modes, cylinder deactivation and cruise control. Each model also gets keyless ignition, USB charging and remote-locking saddlebags.

A stitched ClimaCommand heated and cooled seat and heated grips are available on the Pursuit and Roadmaster models. The ClimaCommand seat offers adjustable heating and cooling for both rider and passenger via integrated buttons with haptics or via the in-dash display powered by Ride Command. Adjustable rear suspension preload is also available on both of these tourer models.

Aaron Jax, Vice President, Indian Motorcycle, said this about the new PowerPlus models: “More than a decade ago when we relaunched Indian Motorcycle, we made a commitment to innovation, just as our original founders did back in 1901. Innovation powered their success, and it is still driving us today; and the expansion of our family of performance-oriented PowerPlus models is a perfect example.

“From liquid-cooled motors and mono-shock rear suspension to the advent of modern performance baggers with the Indian Challenger, we were first to market in the V-Twin category with these advancements. It’s all part of our ongoing commitment to innovating with features and options that enhance the riding experience for our customers and for generations of riders to come.”
