Indian Delivers New ‘First 6’ Sport Chief RT Custom Builds
After already unveiling its new Sport Chief RT model, Indian Motorcycles has given us a glimpse into six all-new ‘First 6’ models, including a very flashy American Graffiti design
The new ‘First 6’ models are all Sport Chief RT custom builds which follows on from the ‘standard’ RT which is also new and bolsters a custom appearance of its own.
Unveiled at the Moto Bike Expo in Verona, Italy, Indian gave us a first look at the new bikes which will look to build on the new Sport Chief RT’s aggressive style. The six-bike collection can also be voted on in order to choose the best build.
The six builds were all crafted and made by a different Indian dealership so bragging rights are certainly up for grabs, but if you ask me, the new ‘Top Fuel’ livery Sport Chief gets the nod.
Made by Indian Motorcycles’s French dealer in Metz, the Top Fuel edition Sport Chief RT gets a sublime purple colourway and features a very slick, but thin front fairing section along with a yellow windshield.
All six bikes are no different to the new Sport Chief RT which comprises a Thunderstroke air-cooled 116 V-twin engine which delivers a very hefty 115lb-ft of peak torque.
Up next is the American Graffiti which perhaps steals the show when it comes to being the most flamboyant of the lot. Yes, a lot of that has to do with the colourway which, like the Top Fuel, does little to hide the fact it wants to be seen. The American Graffiti edition was built by Indian Motorcycles’s official Prague dealer.
Four other models feature including the boldly-named ‘Bastard’ model which has been crafted by MotoStrada Porto, Hoka Key which comes from Styrian Motor Cycle, The Qwetcher from Biker Syndicate in Switzerland and Britain’s No Comply Society model which gives off a very rugged appearance.
The project to build these six very custom Indian Sport Chief RT motorcycles came from Ola Stenegard, who said: “When we’re designing, we’re always keeping customisers in our minds to ensure that the bikes we produce are as easy to work on as we can make them. The ‘First 6’ really is the fruit of that process and, as ever, I’m totally blown away by the results, especially with the really short time our dealers had to create these bikes from the sketches they presented during the selection process.
“The level of paintwork is next-level and the close-up details are off the wall. With every viewing you find something new on each build.”
