Claudio Domenicali has been reconfirmed as the President of Motor Valley Development for a further two years.
The two-year extension to Domenicali’s tenure as the Motor Valley Development President comes after an historically successful year for the company of which he is the CEO: Ducati Motor Holding.
In 2022, Ducati saw success on the race track with multiple race wins at World Championship level, and triple crowns in both WorldSBK and MotoGP.
Away from the race track, Ducati’s 2022 was similarly strong, with its most successful year for motorcycle sales in the company’s history, with over 60,000 units being registered worldwide.
Further to that, Ducati has expanded its range to include the off-road-focused Ducati DesertX, and is reportedly planning its arrival in motocross both in the MXGP World Championship and the US series (AMA Supercross, AMA Pro Motocross, SuperMotocross World Championship) for as early as 2024 in the former, and 2025 in the latter.
As for Motor Valley, it is a region which is home to 16,500 companies with over 90,000 employees and an annual turnover of €16 billion.
Claudio Domenicali, Ducati CEO and President of Motor Valley, said: “In recent years I have carried out the task of President of the Motor Valley Development association with pride and responsibility because I believe that enhancing the uniqueness of this territory is a duty for those who, like us, are part of it. It is an honour to be able to continue in this role in the next two years and I would like to thank all the partners and institutions for their trust.
“The industrial, tourist and cultural region of the Emilia-Romagna Motor Valley deserves to be supported and promoted in all its components, continuing to give value to the prestigious universities, historical and artistic culture and unrivalled motoring and technological expertise."
