MV Agusta ‘Ottantesimo’ Collection Features New Dragster, F3 and More
MV Agusta has released an all-new ‘Ottantesimo’ collection which features brand new limited edition Brutale models, a new Dragster RR, F3 RR and Superveloce S
If you were hoping for MV Agusta to unveil a wave of new motorcycles, look no further, although you will need to be very quick indeed as all six new ‘Ottantesimo’ models will be limited in numbers.
Born in 1945, that was also the first year of MV Agusta producing its first engines, which is what the Ottantesimo - translates to eightieth - is celebrating with its new range of limited edition motorcycles, and what a line-up it includes.
Starting with the Brutale, MV Agusta has introduced three models as part of the 80-year celebration and the first includes the Brutale RR. Its three-cylinder engine produces 140bhp and 64.1Ib ft of torque.
The new Ottantisimo Brutale RR features a Brembo four-piston calliper on the front - same as the standard model - and a single 240mm single steel disc on the rear, again supplied by Brembo.
Every one of the six Ottantesimo ranges features only 500 motorcycles and in the case of the Brutale RR the number of the bike will be on the tank protection plaque which is made of aluminium. In terms of colours, the Brutale RR features a Rosso Ago and Argento Ago option which comes with a dedicated colour trim and graphic (CTG) and the Heritage logo.
The Dragster RR, which MV Agusta claims to be its moodiest and most ‘rebellious’ motorcycle, comes in a stunning black and silver colourway. Equipped with the SCS (Smart Clutch System) the Dragster RR Ottantesimo retains its ability to stop in gear and restart without using the clutch.
The Dargster’s three-cylinder engine also produces 140bhp and 64.1Ib ft of torque and features the same Brembo, front and rear braking system as the Brutale RR. As with the current Dragster RR SCS model, the Ottantesimo model features Marzocchi upside-down, telescopic hydraulic forks as the front suspension set-up. On the rear it comprises a Sachs single shock absorber with rebound and compression damping and spring preload adjustment.
Like the Brutale RR, the Ottantesimo F3 RR features an Argento Ago and Rosso Ago colourway, which sits atop a carbon-fibre fairing as a tribute to the F4 750. The Special edition F3 RR includes a special kit with an Akrapovic exhaust which helps it to make a whopping 155bhp, a carbon-fibre exhaust cover, CNC-machined fuel cap, and a passenger seat cover.
Last but certainly not least in the three-cylinder Ottantesimo collection is the Superveloce S, which features a unique colour combination of Fire Red and Satin Intense
Silver. Included is a very comfy-looking Alcantara seat and new Millerighe wheels. The dedicated kit includes an Arrow exhaust and the bike can produce up to 153bhp and just shy of 65Ib ft of torque.
All three-cylinder models feature a six-axis inertial platform that includes four riding modes which are Rain, Sport, Race, and Custom. Traction control is adjustable in eight levels: two for Rain, three for Road and three on track. The dashboard consists of a 5.5inch colour TFT display, which allows riders to record and share routes, customise the bike's configuration directly from their smartphone (through the MV Ride App), and activate turn-by-turn navigation.
Brutale 1000 range includes two Ottantesimo 500 example motorcycles
Moving to the four-cylinder range, the Brutale 1000 and 1000 RR have received the Ottantesimo treatment too and here are some of the added elements.
MV Agusta has confirmed a new ECU has been implemented to offer new maps so that throttle sensitivity and ease of control in all conditions has been improved. The camshafts have been redesigned to increase torque and power at low revs, enhancing. Examples of power and torque improvements compared to the Euro5 version goes as follows.
At 3500rpm there is an increase of +7Ib ft of torque and +6bhp, at 5500rpm there’s an even bigger jump of +14.7Ib ft of torque and +15bhp, while 8000rpm sees an improvement of +8Ib ft of torque and +12bhp. 9500rpm sees another 7Ib ft of torque increase and +12bhp.
Both the Brutale 1000 Ottantesimo and Brutale 1000 RR Ottantesimo include a new four-output exhaust system, which has been developed with Arrow. The new 10-disc slipper clutch with torque assist is more robust, effective, and easier to manage under stress, claims the Italian company, reducing clutch lever resistance by 50 per cent.
Like the three-cylinder bikes, four riding modes are available which again include Rain, Sport, Race and Custom. The standard Brutale 1000 features Marzocchi suspension but the 1000 RR features a Ohlins Smart EC 3.0 suspension set-up. The 1000 RR also features Ohlins suspension on the rear.
All six bikes are set to hit dealerships in April 2025.
