CFMOTO 700CL-X UK Price revealed as the bike arrives in dealers
We’ve ridden it and now so can you, the £6,299 (OTR) CFMOTO 700CL-X has arrived in UK dealerships
ONE of the most eye-opening bikes from a surprising manufacturer has landed in the UK and is ready for sale. The CFMOTO 700CL-X comes with a £6,299 price tag – here’s how it shapes up to the competition.
Powered by a 693cc parallel twin-cylinder engine, the CFMOTO produces a claimed 74bhp and 50lb-ft of torque. That places the modern-retro naked slap-bang in the middle of the hyper-competitive middleweight and A2 naked bike class.
Flanked by bikes like the class-leading Yamaha MT-07 and XSR-700, Kawasaki Z650, and Honda CB650R, the plucky 700CL-X is going up against some of the biggest names in the business, and it’s not just good value that the team at CFMOTO are leveraging here. The CL-X feels like the most serious attempt by a Chinese motorcycle manufacturer to take on the big Japanese brands toe-to-toe. Here’s how they all stack up
CFMOTO 700CL-X vs its rivals
Bike | Price | Power | Torque | Weight (kerb) | Seat |
700CL-X | £6,299 | 74bhp | 50lb-ft | 196kg | 800mm |
CB650R | £7,399 | 93bhp | 46lb-ft | 203kg | 810mm |
MT-07 | £6,902 | 74bhp | 49lb-ft | 184kg | 805mm |
XSR700 | £7,702 | 74bhp | 49lb-ft | 186kg | 835mm |
Z650 | £6,949 | 67bhp | 47lb-ft | 188kg | 790mm |
While is tight on the table above, really the biggest test the bike has is trying to shake off that ‘Chinese bike’ tagline. While it doesn’t look, feel, or ride like a Chinese-made motorcycle, there are still some questions to answer with regard to how it handles a good old British winter!
