New S1000RR-powered Bimota BB3

TAKE the 193hp S1000RR engine, put it in a new chassis weighing slightly more than the one it came from and sell it for more money. It's not a business plan we'd like to take on Dragons' Den but we do like the outcome.

Bimota's new BB3 uses S1000RR's 999cc inline-four and retains all of its power and 82.6lbfit of torque in a new tubular steel frame. It weighs 179kg dry, one kg more than the BMW.

It's got ABS, traction control and fully-adjustable suspension front and rear. It was unveiled today at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan. No price has been announced but it will almost certainly be more than the S1000RR's £13,735.
