Suzuki GSX250R price announced

SUZUKI has just revealed the price of its new GSX250R at £4,299, plus an extra £100 if you want it in MotoGP livery.

That means the new 248cc parallel-twin Suzuki starts from around £800 less than Yamaha's R3 and £600 less than Kawasaki's Ninja 300, both also faired twins.

The Suzuki is £800 cheaper than KTM's RC 390 but £300 more expensive than Honda's CBR300R and £450 more than Kawasaki's Ninja 250 SL, which are all faired singles.

The GSX250R makes a claimed 24.7hp at 8,000rpm and 17.3lbft torque at 6,500rpm, and weighs 181kg, with ABS as standard.

Suzuki says it's been developed to 'optimise low and mid-range power, giving it a punchy and versatile character'.

It's got clip-on bars and comes in either black or the blue MotoGP livery.

It's due to arrive in dealers in April.
