Updated Moto Guzzi V85 range offers three choices for 2024
The Moto Guzzi V85 will be available in three different variants in 2024, with an all-out tourer, a crossover, and a more off-road focused choice
The Moto Guzzi V85 is updated in 2024, and will be available in three different variants covering on-road, off-road, and somewhere in between.
The ultimate base of the Moto Guzzi V85 remains unchanged for 2024, with an 853cc twin-cylinder motor, but the engine itself gives more performance than before. 80bhp is now the maximum output, compared to the 75bhp of the previous generation, and the maximum torque is 61 lb ft at 5,100rpm. Moto Guzzi says that 90 per cent of that maximum torque is available from as low as 3,500rpm.
The engine also now meets Euro5+ regulations, and Moto Guzzi has also incorporated knock sensors for more accurate ignition timing dictated by the ECU. A single 52mm throttle body is used, as well as ride-by-wire with multiple mappings, and a semi-dry sump.
The frame is also new, a tubular steel unit with a satin finish, and the chassis also benefits from adjustable suspension at both ends, both with 170mm of wheel travel and supporting a 210mm ground clearance. Braking is done courtesy of 320mm front discs with radially mounted Brembo callipers, while a two-piston floating rear calliper squeezes a 260mm disc.
Electronic features benefit from a six-axis IMU, and there are three riding modes: ‘Road’, ‘Sport’, and ‘Rain’. Cornering ABS also features, as well as cruise control.
2024 Moto Guzzi V85 Strada
The 2024 Moto Guzzi V85 Strada is the road-oriented version of the V85, featuring road-treaded tyres, alloy wheels, a low front mudguard, and more streamlined styling than the TT variants. It also weighs 4kg less than the TT, and is available in two colours: ‘Nero Isola’ and ‘Grigio Brera’.
2024 Moto Guzzi V85 TT
The TT variant keeps the familiar spoked wheels, in 19-inch and 17-inch diameters front and rear respectively, which themselves accommodate tubeless tyres in 150/70-17 and 110/80-19 sizes. Its frame is painted red, as is the rear shock, and the TT is available in either the ‘Rosso Fuji’ or ‘Grigio Tambora’ paint schemes.
2024 Moto Guzzi V85 TT Travel
The TT Travel variant of the V85 is made for the long-distance rides. This purpose is exemplified by its 23-litre fuel tank and use of a cardan shaft instead of a chain. A height-adjustable touring windscreen is also added, with a 22 per cent increase in surface area over the standard version, while side deflectors add further to wind protection. Moto Guzzi says that the pressure on the rider’s helmet is reduced by 50 per cent on the TT Travel compared to the TT thanks to these additions.
New sidecases are also added, with 37 litres on the right and 27.5 litres on the left side, while heated grips and a heated seat come as standard. Connectivity is also available through Moto Guzzi MIA, and the TT Travel is available in one colour: ‘Bronzo Deserto’.
