What’s an Indian Springfield?

We'll find out soon

What’s an Indian Springfield?

What’s an Indian Springfield?

BACK in December we told you Indian’s 2016 range would include an unseen model called the Springfield, after finding the name in US Environment Agency documents.

Now the news has been confirmed, with the name appearing again in a list of 2016 Indian models, this time on an emission certificate from the California Air Resources Board.

It’s listed alongside the Chief range including the Classic and, as we predicted, uses the same 1811cc, 91hp V-twin engine.

Further confirmation comes from the fact Indian has applied to trademark the model name ‘Springfield’, after the town in Massachusetts where the firm was originally based.

Nothing else has been revealed about the model, aside from its exhaust and hydrocarbon emission levels, which make dry reading.

Whatever it is, the fact it’s got a 2016 emission certificate means we should expect it to debut soon.
