New CFMoto 125NK is the New Entry-Level Rival to KTM and Yamaha
CFMoto has rolled off the covers on its new 125NK naked bike which debuted at EICMA alongside its big brother, the 675NK
It looks as though highly decorated brands like Yamaha and Honda could face stiff competition from Chinese company CFMoto in the A1 class, courtesy of its new entry-level 125NK naked bike.
Alongside the 675NK model which also landed in the EICMA showroom earlier this week, CFMoto’s new 125NK features a compact design and modern electronics that seemingly takes some inspiration from KTM’s Duke 125. However, it’s more from an aesthetics point of view as the suspension and braking components are different between the two brands, as is the power output.
Being a learner-legal bike, the stats for the bike will come as no surprise. The new 125NK is powered by a 124cc single-cylinder engine that’s capable of delivering 14.4bhp at 10500 rpm and 7.5Ib ft of torque 8,500 rpm.
The wheelbase of 1360mm for the new entry-level naked from CFMoto combines with a seat height of 780mm to make the bike accessible for riders of different heights. The weight of 142kg is bang on the money for an A1 bike.
The 125NK features a steel tube frame and an aluminium swingarm at the rear. The upside-down fork at the front and rear monoshock with adjustable preload make up the bike’s suspension. The braking system includes a 292mm single disc brake with a dual-piston calliper at the front and a 220mm rotor with a single-piston calliper at the rear. The 125NK is also equipped with ABS and traction control.
Regarding the electronics department, the new 125NK gets all the features you would expect from its rivals. The lighting system which includes the headlights, taillight, and indicators all consist of LED lights. The five-inch TFT dashboard displays all the relevant information needed and has specifically been designed to be user-friendly. An optional T-Box is available, offering additional connectivity features.
The CFMoto 125NK will be available in Zephyr Blue and Gem Black colour options, and although we don’t know the price just yet, it’s likely to be a very affordable 125 option.
