Just one perfect 10 - and no prizes for guessing who - at the German MotoGP while key title fighters struggle for points this weekend.
Marc Marquez has secured a perfect 10 of consecutive pole positions and race wins in Germany, so it only seems fitting to award the MotoGP world championship leader with the same score for his performance across this weekend.
Title fighters Andrea Dovizioso and Alex Rins missed out on vital points again this weekend, allowing Marquez to extend his advantage to 58 points in the championship, as the pair suffered in Sachsenring. Fabio Quartararo endured his first MotoGP race fall, and just his second off for Petronas Yamaha all season, to put a dampener on his stunning first half of his rookie premier class campaign.
At the front Maverick Vinales demonstrated he’s back in form with second place to lead the Yamaha charge in the riders’ standings as Valentino Rossi continued to struggle to match his team-mate.
MotoGP heads into a month-long summer break with action resuming in the Czech Republic at Brno on August 2-4 for round 10 of the 2019 season.
