James Hillier will lead OMG Racing’s first outing on the roads in 2020 after completing its Isle of Man TT and North West 200 line-up alongside David Johnson.

The British Superbike Championship race winning team announced earlier in the week of its intention to expand its racing programme to include the roads in 2020, promising ‘household names’ across the Superbike, Supersport and Superstock classes.

Having revealed Aussie Johnson on Thursday, OMG Racing has now confirmed Hillier just days after the experienced racer announced he was parting ways with Bournemouth Kawasaki after ten years competing together.

For this campaign Hillier – who has 44 top ten TT finishes from 53 starts – will switch to BMW S1000RR in the Superbike class for the first time.

“I’m really looking forward to a new chapter in my career with OMG Racing and riding the new BMW S1000RR and Yamaha R6.”

“OMG Racing are putting together a strong package around me, I’ll be working with a Crew Chief I know and very closely with the team to develop the bike.”

“With any kind of motorsport, knowing when to make changes is pivotal to success. It’s definitely the right time for me to make this move and I can’t wait to get started!”

OMG Racing burst onto the scene in 2018 with a single Suzuki entry in the BSB before expanding that out to two GSX-R1000Rs in 2019 and clinching its maiden win with Josh Elliott at Silverstone. For 2020, however, it switches to BMW machinery with Hector Barbera and Luke Mossey to lead its effort in BSB.
