2019 World Superbike entry list released

The provisional 2019 World Superbike entry list has been officially published with an 18-rider line-up set to make up the grid.

With BMW delivering the new 2019 S1000RR and reuniting with Shaun Muir Racing plus riders Tom Sykes and Markus Reiterberger and Honda switching to a Moriwaki-Althea joint entry with Leon Camier and Ryuichi Kiyonari, plus a third entry solely run by Althea for Alessandro Delbianco, the 2019 grid has an all-new look to it joining the familiar faces at the factory and customer Kawasaki and Yamaha squads.

GRT Yamaha steps up to World Superbike having signed Marco Melandri alongside reigning World Supersport champion Sandro Cortese, while the Aruba.it Racing Ducati squad will debut the new Panigale V4 R with Chaz Davies joined by Alvaro Bautista.

Eugene Laverty forms a new partnership with Team Goeleven, switching from Kawasaki and Ducati machinery for 2019, to form a rival customer Ducati squad to Michael Ruben Rinaldi at Barni Ducati. 

Customer Kawasaki squads Puccetti Racing (Toprak Razgatlioglu), Orelac Racing VerdNatura (Leandro Mercado) and Pedercini Racing (Jordi Torres) also all return for 2019.

The 2019 World Superbike season gets underway at Australia’s Phillip Island on February 22-24 to kick-start a 13-round campaign which concludes at Qatar’s Losail International Circuit on October 24-26.
