Support Shown for Speedway Legend Tai Woffinden After Major Accident
Tai Woffinden was airlifted to hospital following a crash during a speedway race in Poland

Three-time Speedway world champion Tai Woffinden has received messages of support following a scary accident during a racing event in Poland, which led to him being airlifted to hospital.
Both fans and Woffinden’s competitors have taken to social media to show their support for the British rider following the accident, which happened on Sunday, 30 March.
Woffinden was racing for Polish speedway club Rzeszow when he collided with team-mate Franciszek Majewski in the opening corner.
The two bikes are believed to have locked together as a result of the impact, before going on to hit the air fence, which resulted in the race event being abandoned. Woffinden was the rider who came off the worse, and was airlifted to hospital soon after the collision.
Woffiden suffered multiple injuries as a result of the crash, including limb fractures and a chest injury. A statement from the Polish club said: “The patient was transported to our hospital by the Air Ambulance Service. He arrived at the hospital with multiple injuries, multiple limb fractures and a chest injury.

“His condition is stable; he is mechanically ventilated and remains in a pharmacological coma. He is staying in the Intensive Care Clinic, where he remains under the care of doctors.”
As well as being a three-time FIM Speedway World Champion, Woffinden is also a three-time British champion and, without question, one of the best speedway riders of his generation.
His wife, Faye, went on to thank people for the support shown on her social media, saying: “Right now, our hearts are heavy, and we are taking things one moment at a time. Please know how deeply grateful we are for your patience, your love, and your support - it truly means the world to us.
“In the midst of this incredibly difficult time, your support reminds us that we are not facing this alone. However, we are still processing everything and need a little more time to understand where things stand before sharing any further updates. We appreciate your patience and understanding more than we can say.”
Everyone at Visordown wishes Woffinden the best and hopes he makes a full recovery.
