George Clooney 'split his helmet in half' during T-bone crash
George Clooney reveals how he had a very lucky escape from a 70mph road traffic accident whilst filming his latest film Catch-22
Movie star George Clooney has revealed he is lucky to be alive after coming off his motorbike in a high-speed collision with a car.
Clooney, a two-time Oscar winner, was on location in Sardinia, Italy filming new drama Catch-22 when a Mercedes driver reportedly pulled out, forcing him off his bike at a speed of 70mph.
Such was the severity of the crash, the Clooney revealed the impact split his helmet in two, and knocked him clean out of his shoes.
"I crashed a motorcycle," he quoted by The Hollywood Reporter. "That was a really fun time," he continued. "I've learned that I really, actually, cannot fly. I learned that lesson really well."
Sadly for George, it appears the traumatic experience is enough for him to hang up his (broken) helmet for good, saying: ‘If you get nine lives, I got all of them used up at once — so I can let go of motorcycle riding for a while'
Based on the below, we'd say stick to acting... and looking effortlessly handsome whilst drinking espresso.

After such a terrifying crash, would you give up motorcycling for good?
