ZERO MOTORCYCLES has announced its 2019 model line-up, promising more power, enhanced off-road ability and fresh styling.

With the growing public desire for all things dual sport, unsurprisingly Zero has focused on its DS range.

Firstly, the entry-level Zero S ZF7.2 and DS ZF7.2 now boast an impressive 42 per cent more horsepower. And given that the DS weighs 43kg less than its long-range counterpart, it promises a seriously impressive power-to-weight ratio.

For 2019, the Zero DSR, with its 146 Nm of seamless torque, will receive a dual-sport windscreen, tank grips, hand guards and a 12V accessory socket, while the touring-specific DSR Black Forest Edition adds integrated luggage and a host of adventure-oriented gear.

And to better the charging capabilities of its dual sport and street machines, Zero has launched an accessory 6kW Charge Tank, which can be retro-fitted in dealerships to its S, SR, DS and DSR models dating back to 2015. The Charge Tank allows the bike to recharge six times faster than a standard wall outlet via standard Level 2 charge stations, adding up to 85 miles of city range in an hour.

In an industry-first, Zero has also announced a “Long Term Storage Mode”, in which its motorcycles will automatically put themselves into a low-power mode to optimize battery charge and improve long-term battery health.

All 2019 models feature new styling, colours and graphics. The Zero FX and FXS will now be available in ‘Dune’ and ‘Rhino Grey’, the Zero S and SR will come in ‘Jet Black’ and ‘Black Metallic’, while the Zero DS and DSR will wear a sleek ‘Sandstone’ or ‘Caldera Metallic’.
