A2-Ready FB Mondial MUD 452 Adventure Bike Revealed
The FB Mondial MUD 452 looks like a direct competitor to the KTM 390 Adventure and Honda NX500

The relatively niche motorcycle maker FB Mondial has revealed its latest A2-licence adventure bike, as the aptly named MUD 452 is launched.
The bike becomes the Italian brand’s most credible adventuring touring model, boasting the largest capacity engine in the current FB Mondial range - an engine it shares with the road-biased Scopri Piega 452 naked bike.
The heart of the MUD 452 is a 450cc parallel twin-cylinder engine, topped by double overhead cams, and boasting a healthy (yet still A2 compliant) 46bhp at 10,000rpm. Peak torque is a useful 28.8lb ft, which arrives at 6,500rpm, while the drive is delivered to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox.

The chassis of the bike looks to be a fairly simple but robust package, featuring a 43 MM fork at the front, which is joined by a mono-shock at the rear which links to the swingarm via a progressive linkage. All told the chassis and suspension of the bike provide it with 264mm of ground clearance, which is more than the KTM 390 Adventure X (232mm) and the Honda NX500 (250mm). It's light too, with its makers claiming a weight in 'running order' of just 175kg. There is, though, no mention of whether that is with or without the 17.5 litre fuel tank being brimmed with fuel.

UK pricing for the MUD 452 isn’t disclosed on the FB Mondial UK website. It is though already available to our European neighbours, and adventurists in Latvia can experience it for just €6,490 or around £5,300. Should that pricing be something near what we can get it for here in the UK, the FB Mondial might make an attractive-looking alternative to the established bikes already on the market.
You can find out more about the bike on the official website.
